ENTRY 01 / FACTORING COMPANIES COMPARED
Best factoring companies for trucking, compared on terms you can check
Most lists of the best factoring companies are written by factoring companies or paid for by them. This one has a conflict too: we refer carriers to our factoring partner and may be paid for referrals. So we published the criteria first, used only what each company states on its own website, and placed our factoring partner by the same rules as everyone else.
No star ratings, no reviews, no rankings we can't show our work for. By Daniel. Data checked October 2026.
ENTRY 02 / DEAL-BREAKER FILTER
Tick what you won't sign without. Watch the list shrink.
Each factor stays in the table only if its own public page states every term you tick. A factor that drops out may still offer the term; it just doesn't say so where you can check it before calling.
5 OF 5 FACTORS PUBLISH THEIR TERMS BELOW
| FACTOR | NO MONTHLY MINIMUMS | NO LONG CONTRACT | SAME-DAY FUNDING | FUEL CARD | NON-RECOURSE OPTION |

| DAT OutgoSource, Oct 2026 | Not stated | No annual contracts | Not stated. States approval within 4 hours | LIMITED Fuel card sold as a separate DAT product | Not stated |
"Not stated" means we could not find it on the company's public page, not that the company refuses it. Terms change and can differ by account; the signed contract is what counts.
ENTRY 03 / HOW WE COMPARED
Five terms, one rule: it has to be published
We picked the five terms owner-operators ask about most before signing, the ones that decide whether a factoring contract is easy to live with or hard to leave. Then we read each company's own factoring page in October 2026 and recorded only what it states.
We left out reviews, star ratings and "top 10" lists, because none of them can be checked. We also left out companies whose sites we could not read in full when we checked. The table covers five factors; there are many more, and the same five questions work on any of them.
- No monthly minimums. No fee or penalty for factoring less than a set amount in a slow month.
- No long contract. Month to month, or a term short enough to leave without a buyout.
- Same-day funding. Money on the day you upload a clean invoice, at least for invoices sent before a cutoff.
- Fuel card. Discounts at the pump, often tied to the factoring account.
- Non-recourse option. The factor carries some risk if an approved broker goes out of business without paying.
What the table can't tell you
Rates. Few factors publish them, because the rate depends on your volume, your brokers and the contract you choose. Use freight factoring rates and fees to turn any quote into a real monthly cost.
What to read closely anyway
Non-recourse rarely means the factor takes every loss; it usually covers a broker's insolvency only. See recourse vs non-recourse factoring, and read factoring contracts and buyouts before you sign.
ENTRY 04 / WHERE OUR PARTNER FITS
Where our factoring partner fits, and where it may not
Disclosure first: we refer carriers to our factoring partner and may be paid for each referral. It doesn't change your rate, and you never have to factor to use our dispatch.
It suits you if
You want same-day funding and fuel discounts from one account. Its factoring page states same-day payment on uploaded invoices and advances of more than 90% within 24 hours, and its fuel card is accepted at more than 4,000 truck stops, according to its site.
Ask first if
Contract length, minimums or non-recourse are deal-breakers for you. Its factoring page didn't state those terms when we checked, so they drop out of the filter. That doesn't mean they are bad; it means you should get them in writing in the quote before you decide.
Our factoring quote form sends your volume and equipment so the quote comes back with the rate, the advance and the contract terms on one page. Compare it with at least one other factor from the table. If it isn't the better deal for you, take the other one.
One more check applies to every factor, ours included. Before you sign, search the UCC filings in your state for your business name. If an old factor or lender still has a lien on your receivables, the new factor can't fund you until it is released, and sorting that out after you have signed costs days of cash.
ENTRY 05 / BEST BY SITUATION
Where to start, based on what matters most to you
These are starting points from published terms, not endorsements. our factoring partner is our referral partner, and it appears below only where its published terms put it.
You won't sign a long contract or a minimum
Apex Capital states both no long-term contract and no minimum volume. Bobtail states no minimums and no long-term commitment for the first 90 days. DAT Outgo states no annual contracts.
You want the broker's credit risk off your books
OTR Solutions was the only factor in our check that markets non-recourse factoring on its main page. Ask exactly which events it covers.
You want the cost capped in writing
Bobtail publishes a maximum factoring rate of 3.24%. A published ceiling makes quotes easy to compare.
You don't want money held in reserve
DAT Outgo states it factors 100% of approved invoices with no reserves. Compare the fee, since the reserve is how many factors take theirs.
You want same-day funding and a fuel card in one place
our factoring partner, Apex Capital, OTR Solutions and Bobtail all publish both. Ask whether same-day funding costs extra and what the fuel discount really is at the stops on your lanes.
Your MC is brand new
Apex Capital publishes a startup program for new carriers. Others fund new authorities too; ask whether the advance or rate changes during your first months.
Three questions to ask every factor
- 1. What is the total cost on a $2,000 invoice, with every fee included, funded the same day?
- 2. How long is the contract, how does it renew, and what does it cost to leave in month three?
- 3. Do I have to factor every invoice, or only the ones I choose?
Ask by email, not just on the phone, so the answers are in writing when you compare the contract later. Write the answers next to each other. The factor that answers all three in one sentence each is usually the one that will be easiest to work with.
Factoring questions
Q01Which factoring company is best for owner-operators?
The one whose contract you can live with at a total cost you have checked. For most one-truck owners that means no long term, no monthly minimum, fast funding and clear fees. Tick those in the filter on this page, then get quotes from the factors left in the table and compare them line by line.
Q02How do I compare factoring quotes?
Put every quote on the same invoice amount and add every fee: the rate, ACH or wire charges, invoice fees, minimums and any fee for same-day funding. Then compare the contract: term, renewal, termination fee and recourse. The cheapest rate on a 12-month contract can cost more than a higher one you can leave.
Q03Which factoring companies have no long contracts?
Of the factors we checked in October 2026, Apex Capital and DAT Outgo state no long-term or annual contracts on their own sites, and Bobtail states no long-term commitment for the first 90 days. Others may offer it without publishing it. Ask for the term in writing before you sign.
Q04Do factoring companies charge hidden fees?
Some charge fees that are easy to miss: per-transfer ACH or wire fees, invoice processing fees, monthly minimums, fees for same-day funding and termination fees. Several factors now advertise no hidden fees. Ask for a written list of every charge and check the contract contains no others.
Q05Which factoring companies accept new MCs?
Many do, because a factor mainly checks the credit of your brokers, not the age of your authority. Apex Capital publishes a startup program for new carriers. For any other factor, ask directly whether it funds new authorities and whether the rate or advance is different in the first months.
We refer carriers to our factoring partner and may be paid for referrals. It never changes your rate. Disclosure.
