ABOUT

Dispatch for owners, not just drivers

BuddyLoads is a truck dispatch service for owner-operators and small fleets who run their truck as a business. We find and negotiate loads, handle the broker paperwork and plan the week around your costs and your home time. You keep the authority, the decisions and the money.

ENTRY 01 / WHY WE BUILT IT THIS WAY

The usual complaints about dispatchers are easy to list: loads the owner didn't want, fees nobody could check, and a contract that was hard to leave. So we started from the owner's side of the settlement statement. Every decision on our desk is measured against one question: does this load clear your cost per mile and get you closer to your take-home goal?

That is also why this site has more calculators and plain-word guides than sales pages. An owner who knows their floor rate is easier to dispatch well, and harder to talk into a bad load, by us or anyone else.

ENTRY 02 / THE DESK

How the dispatch desk works

  1. STEP 1

    First call

Your lanes, home base, home days, equipment and the lowest rate you will run.

  2. STEP 2

    Packets

Carrier packets to brokers with your MC, insurance, W-9 and, if you factor, your notice of assignment.

  3. STEP 3

    Booking

We search, call and negotiate. The rate con comes to you; you sign it or say no.

  4. STEP 4

    Weekly report

Every load, its rate, miles and our fee, so you can check the fee against your rate cons.

Dispatch desk: Mon-Sun, 24/7. We dispatch every equipment type on the same terms: dry van, reefer, flatbed, step deck, power only, 26 ft box truck, hotshot, car hauler, dump truck, oversize / heavy haul, hazmat / tanker. Box trucks start at 26 ft; we don't dispatch smaller trucks or cargo vans. Pricing is on what dispatch costs, and the first steps are on getting started. Not sure you need a dispatcher at all? Compare a dispatcher with a load board, and see how a dispatcher differs from a freight broker.

ENTRY 03 / WHAT WE WILL NOT DO

Six things we won't do, in writing

Force a load on you

No minimum loads, no forced dispatch. You can turn down any load for any reason, and nothing happens to your account.

Sign for you

The broker sends every rate confirmation to your company, in your name. You sign it, or you don't. We never accept a load on your behalf.

Hide fees

One fee, a percentage of gross on loads you haul: 7% while your MC is under 6 months, 5% for one truck after that, 4% for two or more. No setup fee, no minimums, nothing on loads you decline.

Lock you in

Month to month. Either side can end it with 30 days notice.

Promise income

Nobody controls the freight market. We tell you what loads pay and what they leave after your costs, not what you will make next month.

Hold your money

Brokers pay you, or your factor if you factor. Freight money never passes through us, and we never ask for your bank, factoring or load board logins.

How we write and check the guides is on our editorial policy page, and the partners we may be paid by are listed on our disclosure page. Questions first? Contact us or read the FAQ.

Put your truck on our desk

Two short steps, then a dispatcher calls. Every rate con stays yours to sign or refuse.
